Biography:
André Wilder was a French painter born on August 2, 1871, in Paris. He studied under Jean Léon Gérôme and Marius Michel. Wilder exhibited at the Salon held by the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, the Salon d'Automne, and the Salon des Tuileries. He was influenced by Impressionism and painted landscapes in the style of Alfred Sisley and Maxime Maufra. Brittany was a great source of inspiration for him. Wilder's works are housed at various official collections, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Interior.
