Fausto Muzzi was an Italian painter born in Bologna in 1801 and died in 1879. He was elected Professor of the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna on September 7, 1856. He was known for his painting work. He was part of the Italian school of painting and his work was mainly focused on the representation of religious and mythological themes. He was also a teacher and passed on his knowledge to new generations of artists. His work is recognized and appreciated in Italy and around the world. He is considered one of the most important painters of the 19th century in Italy.
