Felipe Gamarano Barbosa is a Brazilian filmmaker born in Rio de Janeiro in 1980. He completed his MA in filmmaking at Columbia University, New York. His short films, including the award-winning 'Invisible' (2016), have been screened at various international film festivals. Barbosa's feature film debut, 'Casa Grande' (2014), was selected at Cannes and won several awards. His second feature, 'Gabriel and the Mountain' (2017), was also screened at Cannes and won critical acclaim. Barbosa is known for his realistic and humanistic portrayals of contemporary Brazilian society.
