Biography:
Ferdinand Carl Sierich was a painter, illustrator, draftsperson born on March 12, 1839 at The Hague and deceased on October 19, 1905 in The Hague. He was a student of Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove and played an important role in the development of 19th-century painting by his many disciples. He was able to teach his skills to a large group of artists, of whom especially Johannes Bosboom and Jan Hendrik Weissenbruch would rise to great heights.
