Biography:
Francisco Rivero Gil was a Spanish painter, dibujante, caricaturist, ilustrador and cartelista born in Santander, Spain in 1899 and died in Mexico City, Mexico in 1972. He was known for his work in the graphic arts and his illustrations, which often depicted political and social themes. Rivero Gil's work has been exhibited in museums such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He has also been the subject of academic studies, including a dissertation by Donna Ann Southard titled 'Francisco Rivero Gil: A Tale of Graphic Othering'.
