Biography:

Frans Helfferich (The Hague, September 2 1871 - same city, 6 november 1941) was a Dutch painter. He worked in the style of the Hague School, later with strong influence of impressionism. Helfferich studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. He was a member of the Pulchri Studio, an artists' association in The Hague. He painted landscapes, cityscapes and portraits. His works are characterized by a soft, warm color palette and a loose, impressionistic brushwork. He exhibited his works in the Netherlands and abroad, including in Paris, Berlin and New York. His paintings are represented in several museums and private collections.
