Biography:
Kaffe Fassett is an American-born, British-based artist who is best known for his colourful designs in the decorative arts—needlepoint, patchwork, knitting, painting and ceramics. He was born in San Francisco in 1937 and was raised in Big Sur, California. He changed his name to Kaffe as a child, inspired by an Egyptian boy character from the book 'Boy of the Pyramid' by Ruth Fosdick Jones. He moved to England in 1964, where he has lived and worked ever since. Fassett has been awarded an MBE for his services to the arts. He is the author of several books, including 'Dreaming in Color: An Autobiography' and 'Glorious Colour'. He has also hosted his own TV series and has had his work exhibited in galleries and museums around the world.
