Biography:
Frank Jeck was a Hungarian-American woodcarver who emigrated from Hungary to the United States in 1903. He made his home in Philadelphia and worked for Raymond Pitcairn's Bryn Athyn Studios in the 1920s, 1930s, and early 1940s. Jeck was known for his intricate woodcarvings that were used to decorate Glencairn Museum, a castle-like structure built by Pitcairn as both a home and a museum. Some of his notable works include the Bible cabinet in Glencairn's chapel and the teakwood bed, which he completed in 1931.
