Biography:

Fred Stonehouse is a Midwest regional artist who resides in Wisconsin. He received his B.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1982. Although his art is representational, Stonehouse’s illogical settings and dreamlike imagery create a unique and intriguing style. He has developed a personal mythology by weaving together dream logic, strange biomorphic forms, religious symbolism, and the surreal landscape of the unconscious. Stonehouse has had numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States and his work is held in many private and public collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Milwaukee Art Museum.
