Biography:
G.W. Berckhout was a Dutch painter, active in Alkmaar from approximately 1651 to 1657. His work is closely connected to that of the Van der Croos family from Alkmaar. Berckhout is known for his paintings, with 'Egmond Castle' being one of them, created in 1653 using the oil on canvas medium.
