Biography:

Gianni Asdrubali is an Italian abstract artist born in Tuscania in 1955. He is one of the most important abstract artists in Italy and is very sought after by collectors and galleries. Asdrubali emerged in the early 1980s as the protagonist of research that was in opposition to the expressive rules then in place. He is famous for his pivotal participation in the movement Astrazione Povera, created in 1985 by the art critic Filiberto Menna together with the artist Gianni Dessì. Asdrubali's work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and internationally, and he is represented in the permanent collections of several museums, including the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome (MACRO).
