Biography:

Giuseppe Elena was an Italian painter and printmaker born in Codogno, Italy in 1801. He studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in the 1820s and opened a lithographic printing shop in 1827. After the shop closed in 1831, he continued to work for various publishers and presented paintings at the Brera exhibitions. He also wrote art criticism and worked as a caricaturist. He died in Milan in 1867.
