Biography:

Gulammohammed Sheikh is an Indian artist born in Surendranagar, India in 1937. He is one of the members of the Group 1890, an artist collective that stood for modernist values and signaled change in the 1960s contemporary art in India. The group's only exhibition was held in 1963 at Lalit Kala Akademi, Rabindra Bhavan in New Delhi, India. Sheikh is also known for his individual works, which include painting, drawing, and printmaking. He is currently a professor of painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in India.
