Biography:
Gustav Gurschner was an Austrian sculptor born in Mühldorf, Germany in 1873. He died in Vienna, Austria in 1970. Gurschner studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna and under Valgrin in Paris. He was a member of the Vienna Secession and the Hagenbund. Gurschner's work ranged from monuments to decorative everyday objects like lamps and ashtrays in the Art Nouveau style. He was married to the writer Alice Pollak.
