Biography:
Gustave Marissiaux was a Belgian pictorialist photographer. He was born in Marles-sur-Canche, France in 1872 and died in Cagnes-sur-Mer, France in 1929. Marissiaux was known for his symbolist accents in his photography, which were expressed in his landscapes, portraits, and nudes. He used the 'Procédé Sury' technique to create his color photographs. Marissiaux's work was recognized with several awards, including the Grand Prix at the Exposition Universelle de Liège in 1905. His photographs are held in several museums, including the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
