Biography:

Heinz Wichmann was born on January 19, 1908, in Hamburg-Blankenese, Germany. He was a German jurist and civil servant. He studied law and political science in Hamburg, Kiel, and Halle an der Saale, and passed both state examinations. He joined the NSDAP in 1933. Wichmann was married and had four children. He began his career as a judge and public prosecutor, and later worked in the external service of the Reichswirtschaftsministerium in Hamburg and Kiel. From 1940 to 1942, he worked under the Oberpräsident Hinrich Lohse (NSDAP) in the Oberpräsidium der Provinz Schleswig-Holstein. From 1942 to 1945, he served in the Second World War as a lieutenant and deputy battery commander. He was wounded in the war. In 1947, he was taken over by the Ministry of Economics and Transport of the State of Schleswig-Holstein. He worked there as a personal referent of the minister and head of department. Heinz Wichmann died in 1988.
