Biography:
Hal Wichers was born in Tarutung, Indonesia in 1893. He was a pupil of 'Rijksacademie' in Amsterdam and returned to his native country where he painted and drew portraits and landscapes in an impressionistic style. He also made wall paintings and linoleum cuts. He is known for his many impressionist portraits and landscapes, not to mention volcanos, paddy fields, townscapes, flame trees, and other subjects. He died in 1968.
