Biography:
Henri Magron was a French photographer and amateur. He was born on January 15, 1845, in Caen, France. Magron was trained in photography at a young age by his father's friends, Edmond Bacot and Frédéric Barjot. He pursued his passion for photography throughout his life and was one of the first in France to illustrate books with photographs. In 1889, he published 'L'Elixir du Révérend Père Gaucher' by Alphonse Daudet, which is considered a pioneering work in the field of photographic illustration. Magron was also involved in the publication of 'La Normandie Monumentale et Pittoresque' and was a member of the Société Caennaise de Photographie. He retired to Dives-sur-Mer in 1911 and died on January 15, 1927, at the age of 82.
