Biography:
Henry Call was an American artist, active in the late 19th century. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1848 and died in 1934. Call is best known for his paintings of animals, particularly cattle, and is considered one of the leading painters of the American West. He was a member of the National Academy of Design and exhibited his work widely, including at the Paris Salon and the Royal Academy in London. Call's work is held in numerous public and private collections, including the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
