James Lambie is a Scottish artist born in Glasgow in 1964. He is known for his visually compelling installations made from everyday modern materials, including vinyl tape, pop culture objects, and household accessories. Lambie's work often explores the relationship between space and perception, and he is best known for his floor-based installations that trace the shape of a room's architecture. He was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 2005 for his installation 'Mental Oyster'. In addition to his art practice, Lambie is also a musician and DJ.
