Jane Morris, also known as Jane Burden, was an English embroiderer in the Arts and Crafts movement and an artists' model. She was born in Oxford, United Kingdom on October 19, 1839 and died on January 26, 1914. Jane Morris was known for embodying the Pre-Raphaelite ideal of beauty and was a model and muse to her husband William Morris and to Dante Gabriel Rossetti. She was also a sister of Elizabeth Burden, an embroiderer and teacher.
