Jane Palmer is an author and illustrator of speculative fiction from the United Kingdom. She writes novels, short stories, and children's picture books. Palmer is known for her Moosevan series, which includes The Planet Dweller (1985), Moving Moosevan (1990), Duckbill Soup (2011), and Brassica Park (2018). The series satirizes clichés in speculative fiction and features an alien with the ability to shape-shift. Palmer's other notable works include The Watcher (1986), The Drune (1999), The Aton Bird (2008), Nightingale (2008), and Hunder (2010). She also released a collection of stories for adults, Short SF Stories, Tales for Technophobe, in 2013. Palmer's work often explores marginalized subjects and feminist themes. She was born in 1946 in the United Kingdom.
