Biography:
Anatole Marquet de Vasselot was a French sculptor, born in Paris in 1840 and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine in 1904. He was also known as Jean Joseph Marie Anatole Marquet Vasselot. He was a prolific artist, known for his sculptures and his work in bronze. He was also the designer of the hilt of the sword awarded to the French military officer Jean-Baptiste Marchand by the daily newspaper La Patrie in 1899.
