Biography:
Jean-Louis Brian was a French sculptor. He was a pupil of David d'Angers and won the Premier Grand Prix de Rome in sculpture with his statue Capanée foudroyé sous les murs de Thèbes in 1832, together with François Jouffroy. His main works include Jeanne d'Albret, Saint Marc, Caryatid, Portrait of Pierre-Marie Baillot, and Faun standing looking at its tail.
