Biography:

Joaquim Silva Nogueira was a well-known Portuguese photographer at his time, founder of the company 'Fotografia Brasil' (a Lisbon commercial portraiture studio). He is considered one of the most important photographers-retratists of the early 20th century in Portugal, innovator of techniques and aesthetics. He photographed many famous people, including Amália Rodrigues, and his work had a significant impact on the development of modern photography.
