Biography:

Joel Parkinson is an Australian professional surfer who has been competing on the World Championship Tour since 2002. He is a three-time world champion, having won the ASP World Tour in 2012, 2009, and 2007. He is also a two-time runner-up in the ASP World Tour, and has won eleven elite ASP World Title Events, plus nine additional ASP tour events. Parkinson won the ASP World Championship Tour Surfing Title on 14 December 2012 in Hawaii at the Banzai Pipeline during the ASP World Tours' final event for 2012–the Billabong Pipeline Masters. He left the World Tour and left a legacy of a beautiful and powerful surfing.
