Biography:

Johann Sebastian Griebel was a German silversmith born in Alsenz, Germany in 1721 and died in 1788. He was a master silversmith in Frankfurt from 1739. He is known for his princely travel cutlery and other silver works. He used marks such as 'JSG' or 'JSL' and the soldering stamp 13. He was also known to have made a spice box in 1750.
