Biography:
John Pike was an American artist known for his watercolor paintings and illustrations. He studied at the Cape Cod School of Art before moving to Jamaica where he lived for five years working on various art projects including designing theaters, nightclubs, painting murals, and promoting a local rum company. After returning from Jamaica, Pike became an accomplished artist with works featured in major magazines such as Life, Reader's Digest, Collier's, and Fortune. He also worked on commissions for corporations like Alcoa, Standard Oil, and Falstaff. In addition to his artistic career, John Pike was the author of an educational book called 'John Pike Paints Watercolors'. He passed away in 1979.
