Jon Edgar Webb Jr. was an American author, publisher, and editor. He was born on March 13, 1934, in Mansfield, Ohio, and died in 1971. Webb is best known for founding Loujon Press with his wife Louise 'Gypsy Lou' Webb in 1960 in New Orleans' French Quarter. The small publishing house quickly became a giant, publishing works by notable authors such as Charles Bukowski, Henry Miller, Jack Kerouac, and Lawrence Ferlinghetti. The Outsider, a literary magazine published by Loujon Press, brought the work of Charles Bukowski to national attention and published work by notable writers and artists. Webb's correspondence with Bukowski is also significant, with over 100 letters exchanged between 1960 and 1963 and 1967 to 1969. Webb's contributions to literature and publishing have been recognized in various books, documentaries, and articles.
