Biography:
José Salís Camino was a Spanish painter and engraver. He was born on December 1, 1863, in Santoña, Cantabria, Spain. His family moved to Irun, Gipuzkoa, after his father's death when he was seven years old. Salís Camino studied at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid and later in Brussels and Rome. He participated in several exhibitions, including the Exposiciones Nacionales de Bellas Artes in Madrid and the Exposition Universelle in Paris. His works include landscapes, seascapes, and cityscapes. Salís Camino was one of the first members of the Escuela del Bidasoa and a prominent figure in the Spanish art scene during his time.
