Biography:
Joe Zucker was an American artist born in Chicago, Illinois, United States in 1941. He received a B.F.A. from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1964 and an M.F.A. from the same institution in 1966. Zucker's art is known for being quirky and idiosyncratic, often relating to the materials such as cotton and plastic. His work has been exhibited in numerous institutions including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Honolulu Museum of Art, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth in Texas, the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, New York, the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington D.C., and the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Joe Zucker passed away in 2024.
