Trager has been an early proponent of the art quilt movement and has had her work exhibited in various museums and galleries. She has also taught classes on art quilting through Craftsy. Trager's work often explores social and political issues, as seen in her 2016 series 'Refugee Series' which was inspired by the Syrian civil war and the images accompanying the news. Trager's work is held in various collections, including the National Quilt Museum in Kentucky.
