Biography:
Julian Robles was born in New York City in 1933 and died in 2023. He was a painter and sculptor best known for his paintings of New Mexico Indian figures, often with ceremonial dress, as well as pueblo scenes and landscapes. Robles lived and worked in Taos, New Mexico, since 1968, where he was dedicated to recording the ceremonials of the New Mexico and Arizona Indians before their valued rituals are lost. He is considered to carry a tradition of the great Southwest painters as do few other contemporary artists.
