Biography:
Kamea Hadar is a Hawaii-based artist and muralist. He was born in 1985 in Honolulu, Hawaii, to a Japanese/Korean mother and an Israeli father. He began studying drawing and painting from a young age, taking classes at the Honolulu Art Academy and the University of Hawaii. He then spent periods living, studying and working in Japan, Israel, Italy and New York. He is the co-founder and director of POW! WOW!, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting art and culture through a series of global events. He is also the head of POW! WOW! School, a program that provides art education to local youth. He has painted numerous murals in Hawaii and around the world, and his work has been featured in various exhibitions and publications. He is known for his large-scale murals in traditional portraiture style, often featuring people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. He currently lives and works in Honolulu, Hawaii.
