Biography:
Kano Minenobu was a Japanese painter of the Kanō school of painting. He was born in Kyoto in 1662 and died in 1709. He was the son of Kano Tsunenobu and the grandson of Kano Tannyu, both prominent painters of the Kanō school. Minenobu was known for his skill in painting figures and landscapes, and he served as the head of the Kanō school from 1696 until his death in 1709. He was also known by the alternate name Hoshin.
