Biography:
Kathryn Maple is a British artist born in Canterbury in 1989. She studied Printmaking at Brighton University and completed The Drawing Year at The Prince’s Drawing School (now the Royal Drawing School) in 2013. Maple's work is inspired by the outside world and personal experiences, and she is known for her use of dense layers of color and texture. She has exhibited in numerous galleries, including the Royal Academy of Arts, the Mall Galleries, and the Royal Society of British Artists. In 2021, she won the prestigious John Moores Painting Prize for her work 'The Common'.
