Biography:

Katsushika Isai was a Japanese artist born in Edo (now Tokyo) in 1821 and died in 1880. He was a member of the Utagawa school, one of the most important schools of ukiyo-e artists in Japan. Isai was known for his landscapes and genre scenes, often depicting scenes of everyday life in Edo. He was also a skilled printmaker and produced many woodblock prints. Isai's work is characterized by its detailed and realistic depictions of people and places, as well as its use of vibrant colors. He was a prolific artist and his work is highly regarded for its beauty and technical skill.
