Gabriel Charles Dante Rossetti, also known as Dante Gabriel Rossetti, was an English poet, illustrator, painter, translator, and member of the Rossetti family. He was born in London in 1828 and died in 1882. Rossetti is best known for founding the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in 1848 with William Holman Hunt and John Everett Millais. His work inspired the next generation of artists and writers, including William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones.
