Klaus Lenzen is a self-taught German photographer born in 1953. He has been working intensively with photography since 2011, focusing on finding the 'special in the everyday'. His minimalist photographs emphasize shapes, colors, and structures in urban space. He often captures abstract representations of everyday objects, such as wrapped bales of straw, which he describes as 'everyday works of art'. Lenzen has received several awards for his work, including the Sony World Photography Awards 2018 and 2021, and was shortlisted for the Professional Competition 2023 Fine Art Photographer of the Year. He is known for his long-term project 'Every day a photo', where he takes a daily photograph with the same fixed focal length in square format, resulting in over 3000 photographs as of March 8, 2022.
