Linda Lavin is an American actress, singer, and director. She was born on October 15, 1937, in Portland, Maine, to a musically inclined family. Lavin began her acting career at the age of five and has since appeared in numerous stage productions, films, and television shows. She is best known for her role as Alice Hyatt in the television series Alice, for which she won two Golden Globe Awards. Lavin has also released several albums as a singer and has been nominated for several Tony Awards for her work on Broadway. She is currently active in the entertainment industry.
