Biography:
L.T.P. Manjusri (1902-1982) was a revered Sri Lankan artist, journalist, and cultural preservationist, dedicated to safeguarding the country's artistic heritage. As a Buddhist, he was also known as the Ver. Manjusri Thero. He was born in Aluthgama, a small fishing village near Galle in Southern Sri Lanka, and died a national hero in 1982, having had an illustrious career as an artist and scholar.
