Biography:
Louis Patriarche was a French sculptor and medallist. He was born on September 28, 1872, in Bastia, France. Patriarche studied art in Rome with the help of the Sisco legacy. He began exhibiting his work at the Salon des artistes français in 1898, followed by exhibitions at the Salon des artistes décorateurs in 1909 and the Salon d'hiver in 1933 and 1946. Patriarche's notable works include 'Episode de la bataille d'Aboukir' (1908), 'Bourgault-Ducoudray' (1913), 'Médaille commémorant la Victoire' (1919), and 'La porteuse d'eau' (1931). He was awarded the Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 1924. Patriarche passed away on May 13, 1955, in Nîmes, France.
