Biography:

Lucien Armand Marco den Arend is a geometric abstract sculptor born in Dordrecht, Netherlands, on December 15, 1943. He emigrated to the United States with his family in 1953 and settled in Los Angeles, California. He studied art and Russian at California State University, Long Beach from 1964 to 1966. In the summer of 1965, he participated in the first international sculpture symposium in the United States. He later continued his studies in the Netherlands at Tilburg and the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam. He has been living in Finland since 2003. His works are primarily public art and are not modeled after any existing object. They represent only themselves.
