Ludwig Sander was a painter and printmaker best known for his highly controlled geometric abstractions incorporating elements of color field theory. He was born in Staten Island, New York in 1906 and studied in Paris and Munich, as well as in New York under Elmer Brown and Alexander Archipenko. He passed away in 1975.
