Biography:
Manuel Chicharro Bisi was a Spanish photographer born in La Coruña in 1849 and died in Santiago de Compostela in 1924. He was not only a photographer but also a prominent intellectual who actively participated in the society of his time. He is known for his photograph of the Holy Door of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela and for his investigation and improvement of photographic technique, creating a new photographic procedure in 1917 and another one in 1919. He met several worthy photographers during his stay in Santiago, such as Ksado, Almeida, and Guerra.
