Biography:
Marcello Fantoni was born in Florence in 1915. He began his artistic journey in 1927 at the Porta Romana Art Institute and joined the Ceramic Art course taught by Carlo Guerrini. In 1933, he joined the workshop of Galileo Chini to perfect his ceramic art skills. In 1936, he became the artistic director of the Richard Ginori factory, a position he held until 1944. He then founded his own ceramics workshop, Fantoni & C., in Florence, where he worked until 1966. From 1966 to 1970, he was the artistic director of the Fratelli Guzzini factory. In 1970, he founded the Marcello Fantoni factory, which he ran until his death in 2011.
