Margarete Willers, also known as Grete Willers, was a German painter and weaver. She was born on July 30, 1883, in Oldenburg, Germany, and died on June 12, 1977, in Essen, Germany. Willers was a Bauhaus student and explored the formal possibilities of color and black-and-white in her designs. She is known for her strict framework of squares and rectangles in her work. Willers's work can be found in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
