Biography:

Dread Mar I, whose real name is Mariano Javier Castro, is an Argentine singer of reggae rock, reggae en Español, ska and pop music. He was born in Quequén, Argentina, and dropped out of school in the seventh grade to work in his father's bakery in Maipú, Buenos Aires. He began making music in Buenos Aires in 2004, and released his first album 'Jah Guia' in 2005. He has performed as a solo artist under the name 'Dread Mar I' since 2005, and has also performed as the backup singer for Los Cafres. He has performed internationally in Chile and Uruguay, and has released several albums, including 'Amor-es' in 2008, 'Vive en do' in 2010, 'Transparente' in 2012, and 'Caminarás caminos' in 2018. In 2020, he had the three most popular songs on YouTube and released his album 'Yo'.
