Biography:
Marina Ballo Charmet is an Italian photographer born in Milan in 1952. She studied philosophy and specialized in psychology and psychoanalysis of childhood. She worked as a psychotherapist in the territorial services of Milan. Since the mid-eighties, she has been dedicating herself to photography and video. Her work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums, including the Bleu du Ciel gallery in Lyon, the Galleria il Ponte in Florence, and the Gallerie d'Italia in Milan. Her photographs are part of the collections of the Centre Régional de la Photographie Nord-Pas-de-Calais in Douchy-les-Mines, France. She has published several books, including 'Marina Ballo Charmet, a cura di / curated by Pierre Devin' and 'In Between Cities'. Her work focuses on the exploration of the relationship between the individual and the environment, using photography as a tool for experience and knowledge. She has been influenced by the concept of creativity as explored by the British school of psychoanalysis.
