Biography:

Martin Henry Bashir was a British journalist and presenter. He was born in London, United Kingdom in 1963. He worked for the BBC from 1986 to 1999, where he gained an interview with Diana, Princess of Wales under false pretenses in 1995. He later worked for ITV, ABC, MSNBC, and NBC, where he presented and hosted various programs. He resigned from MSNBC in 2013 after making controversial comments about Sarah Palin. In 2016, he returned to the BBC as a religious affairs correspondent. In 2020, it was revealed that he used forgery and deception to secure his 1995 Panorama interview with Diana, Princess of Wales. He resigned from the BBC in 2021 due to health reasons. He died in 2021.
